Our Story... an Old Dog learning a New Trick
As a teenager, Scott dreamed of one day owning a little neighbourhood pub—not because he wanted to be a chef or publican, but because he loved the idea of creating a place where people could gather, share stories, laugh, listen to live music, and simply enjoy each other's company.
Life had other plans.
After an occasionally successful career as an actor (and bartender), Scott left "the business" in search of a more stable career in banking. Over the next fourteen years, he built a successful career in finance while earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree, but never lost his love for hospitality or the sense of community it creates.
Along the way, Scott discovered home brewing and the world of craft beer. What captivated him wasn't just the beer—it was the way neighbourhood breweries brought people together and made them feel like they belonged.
What began as a hobby soon became the perfect way to bring that original dream to life. In less than a year, that idea became a business plan. Investors believed in the vision, and Scott found the perfect home for Old Dog Brewing in Bobcaygeon—a warm, welcoming community he quickly fell in love with and is now proud to call home.
Today, Old Dog Brewing is exactly what it was always meant to be: a welcoming place where great beer brings people together.

We try to keep our core beers (Yellow Lab, Scottie, Chihuahua) available year-round while rotating other favourites and testing new ones
Yellow Lab Lager
4.3%ABV 10 IBU
Ontario Craft Brewing Award Winner
This craft lager is crisp, refreshing and sessionable with subtle hints of cracker, floral and citrus. Delicious from start to finish.
Single Malt Scottie
4.7% ABV 12 IBU
Ontario Craft Brewing Award Winner
This Scottish Ale is simply made with a single malt and small amounts of roasted barley creating deliciously subtle nutty, toasty and caramel notes.
Chihuahua Mexican Light Lager
3.5% ABV 9 IBU
This delicious, Mexican-style lager is crisp, light and refreshing. Perfect with a slice of lime or on its own.
Honey Hound Cream Ale
4.9% ABV 18 IBU
Chow Chow Cherry Sour
4.2% ABV 15 IBU

Pomeranian Pomegranate Wheat

We have 8 taps in our taproom and are constantly trying out new recipes... we usually have 3 or 4 of these "New Pups" on tap and/or canned and available in our Retail Store... come on in and try a flight or two or take some beer to go.... maybe you'll find Your New Best Friend!
